A coin is a clip. Give it a face, a name and a ticker. It goes live on pump.fun with your wallet as creator.
Other people can make clips for your coin; they go into the feed under it. A like placed on their clip pays them this share of your 1% fee. More clips, more likes. You can change it any time.
Costs about 0.02 SOL of rent plus fees. You become the creator on pump.fun and collect its creator fees; the coin shows up here as soon as it is on chain.
